MEET THE CEO
Sheila Amo, SPHR
I am blessed and highly favored! A born and raised Philly jawn (if you know, you know), I come from humble beginnings and know first-hand the importance of being seen, heard, valued and supported. That kind of experience, whether at home, in school or at work is a real difference maker!
I started my career in social work serving and supporting at-risk teens, the homeless, and women in recovery. This critical experience equipped me with the ability to meet people where they are, authentically engage, adeptly deal with change and the discernment not to make every situation about me.

STRATEGIST. COACH. BUSINESS PARTNER.
For more than 20 years, I've followed my HR passion leading individuals and organizations to become more strategic and successful by helping them align their values and goals. The combination of first-hand management experience, years spent as an internal HR consultant to various organizations and time spent as a counselor qualify me as a coach-which goes a long way in helping guide transformational change for individuals and organizations alike.
Most of my career was spent innovating in the non-profit sector, working my way from an HR Specialist to HR Vice President-and ultimately becoming the Chief Administrative Officer-overseeing several administrative functions. These experiences enabled me to build a solid track record in strategic planning, motivating and developing talent, creative problem-solving and leading with grace and grit.
Thank you so much for considering me to help guide your journey to create synergy between how you live, work, and show up in the world!

It's caused by continuing to walk down a path that's no longer yours."

Genesis of The Perry Perspective
Though 2020 cannot be labeled as epic for most of us, it did afford me the opportunity to spend a lot of time in reflection. I had what many might consider an "ideal job" making well over six-figures-and I'm grateful for that experience-however, I was unfulfilled and frustrated. I realized that I wasn't working in a capacity that allowed me to be true to myself. In short, in that role, I wasn't doing what I teach my clients to do. I was no longer working and living in alignment with my values.
I desperately wanted to return to my HR roots of being solely focused on serving and supporting others, connecting with those I serve and being energized by the work of delivering sought-after strategic solutions. So, I took a leap of faith, resigned from my position and launched The Perry Perspective. I'm an entrepreneur now Mama!
One last thing…you might be wondering why "The Perry Perspective"? In a nutshell, I decided on that name because, for me it represents having a trusted and experienced point of view. The Perry family, the family of my Godmother, grounded me in a different and larger "Perspective", encouraging me to see and strive for opportunities far beyond what was in front of me.
